In the Matsu restaurant, you can try various types of Asian dishes, from wok, sushi to bao buns.

Since the WOK has been one of the more popular ways to quickly prepare healthy meals for a long time, we decided to find out what its specific features are.

WHAT IS A WOK?

Although it was originally used in Asian, Chinese, Thai and Indian cuisine, the wok is now a well-known kitchen tool in all corners of the world😊 The specifics for which the wok is known are the following: although it resembles a frying pan, it is a round pot with high, sloping edges that help with even distribution of heat over the entire cooking surface. It can be made of different materials, such as carbon coated steel, cast iron or stainless steel.

In traditional wok cooking, ingredients are cooked in different stages, with those that require longer cooking time placed at the bottom and those that require less time at the top. This cooking method helps retain the texture and flavor of each ingredient.

HOW TO PROPERLY PREPARE A DISH IN A WOK

Thanks to the even distribution of heat, the wok enables fast cooking at high temperatures.

Before you start cooking, cut all the ingredients into equal pieces to ensure even cooking.

Heat a wok over medium heat and wait for it to get hot enough before adding the oil. Then coat the entire surface with oil so that some of the ingredients do not burn.

If you are preparing a dish with different ingredients, first add those that require the longest cooking time, such as hard vegetables or meat, but make sure that the vegetables do not brown too much, because for a real wok experience, the vegetables should always remain a little crispy. After you have added the necessary spices, your wok is ready to serve😊
